U.S. Sen. Charles Schumer says smaller airlines are starting to charge for carry-on bags and he wants the cost clearly identified in the ticket price.

He says tickets now say only that additional baggage fees may apply.

The movement by smaller airlines comes after Schumer and federal Department of Transportation got major airlines to abandon carry-on baggage fees.

Schumer wants fees to be disclosed up front so passengers know what they're paying for.

The New York Democrat is contacting the U.S. Department of Transportation.
