O'REILLY: In "Back of the Book" segment tonight, the weekend review from "The Ingraham Angle."

If you are in Madison, Wisconsin and you go to the capitol building, you may be very insulted on this Holy Thursday.

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

The Freedom from Religion Foundation has put up a sign that says, "Nobody died for our sins. Jesus Christ is a myth."

Very nice. Joining us now from Washington, Fox News Analyst Laura Ingraham. Some fair-minded people know that's appalling. But why do you think the atheist group is doing it. To get attention? Why.

LAURA INGRAHAM, FOX NEWS CONTRIBUTOR: Yes, well, I think every Christian holiday, we see something like this, right. They don't really do it so much with the Muslim holidays. I'm not quite sure why.

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

But I think they think they can engage Christians, they get a little bit more attention. They exist as oppositional forces to religion but they always seem to focus on the Christian religion, in particular, and this gives them their, you know, --

(END VIDEO CLIP)

-- their reflected glory, their moment in the sun. And they feel like, maybe, I guess, they'll change the minds but, you know, Bill, you pointed out that you don't really change minds by just being -- talking to another person.

O'REILLY: Nasty. Nasty.

INGRAHAM: It doesn't work. I mean, it doesn't work, so I don't know what they're thinking --

O'REILLY: Even most atheists would condemn this, I'm sure. But this brings us to the point of how you get your message across.

If this atheist group really cared about their cause, what they should have done was put up a display that said, "We might have a better way. We, the Freedom from Religion Foundation, would like to give you some advice that might help your life. Contact us at this."

INGRAHAM: Right.

O'REILLY: So, then, people would get curious about what that message may be -- dot, dot, dot, dot, dot. If they really wanted to be a positive force and express their atheistic views, that's what they would have done.

They don't want to do that. They want to hate and disparage people like you and me. And I'm not exactly sure why, why --

INGRAHAM: Well, they don't --

O'REILLY: -- because Laura Ingraham and Bill O'Reilly, you know, believe in Jesus and go to church. Why do you hate us for that, for what reason.

INGRAHAM: I mean, as a theological matter, I mean, all of this is is kind of, you know, predicted in The Bible --

O'REILLY: Yes, but I never got the why behind it. It is predicted but why.

INGRAHAM: Well, the why means because the light -- I personally believe the light of Christ is really powerful but it's really threatening. It's enormously threatening to people who believe that their lifestyle is fine and it's the best lifestyle and they don't want anyone to hold a mirror up to it.

You know, we're all slogs. We're all sinners. But they don't like the light. And I get it. That's fine. That's what they want to do.

But we believe in spreading as much of the light as possible. We don't know we succeed, right.

But at a Christian celebration of the Resurrection of Christ, we believe there is redemption. And this ultimate sacrifice means redemption.

So, I'm praying for the redemption of the nasty folks over at that particular foundation. I don't know if it'll work or not.

O'REILLY: I've never understood -- we live in a country where you can be an atheist and do whatever you want to do in the --

INGRAHAM: Right.

O'REILLY: -- religious realm. And that's one of the great things about America. Yet this people want to insult. And that's what it is, it's insulting.

They want to insult people with whom they disagree. And there's no reason for it.

INGRAHAM: But do they have to sell. I mean, think about it, Bill. What do they really have to sell. I mean, that's the norm at this point.

O'REILLY: Well, they have to sell intellect, human intellect. That's what they do.

INGRAHAM: Yes, fine. Yes, yes, OK, fine. But I guess we probably have more atheists in the country today, we do than 25 years ago. No doubt. The culture is already predominantly atheist -- you know, it doesn't really promote --

O'REILLY: Well, secular, secular.

INGRAHAM: -- faith for the most part. Yes, secular. So, they have enormous power, I think, already in the culture that doesn't address religion at all.

But that's not enough for them. They want to mock and demean.

O'REILLY: Absolutely.

INGRAHAM: And Christ was mocked and demeaned. I mean, he was ridiculed and demeaned all the way to Calvary.

And so, as a Christian, this doesn't surprise me at all. I expect this to happen. But I wish they -- you know, if they're going to be --

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

-- anti-religion, atheist but also anti-religion, then why is it always the Christians the only ones who get the -- you know, the mud slung at them. I don't know why it's just Christians.

I mean, they should, you know, pass the criticism around to every religious --

(END VIDEO CLIP)

-- holiday.

O'REILLY: Yes, they're afraid of the Muslims, so --

INGRAHAM: But they focus on the Christians, Bill. They always do.

O'REILLY: They're afraid of the Muslims because Christians would turn the other cheek and the Muslims won't.

INGRAHAM: Right. Maybe not.

O'REILLY: Laura, thanks very much.
