ERIC BOLLING, CO-HOST: Welcome back, everybody.

Cereal and beer, Tiger Woods and your wife, Gutfeld and the lake chair -- all things that don't belong together. Now and one more, ObamaCare and sports.

Greg, don't go anywhere.

Believe it or not, President Obama is trying to screw up Sunday football by interrupting NFL games with ObamaCare commercials, so I called the NFL to see if the rumor was true.

It went something like this:

Me: Say it ain't so.

NFL: Yes, we have been contacted by Obama.

Me: Please tell me you told them to jump in the lake.

NFL: We're certainly open to listening to this proposal.

Folks, I'm crushed. The one thing I look forward to every single day of my life is how long to football, whether it's three months away or three hours away, how long until kickoff. Now, I'm not so sure.

DANA PERINO, CO-HOST: I didn't know we had so much in common. I think of that every day, too!

(CROSSTALK)

BOB BECKEL, CO-HOST: Do you think the draft went well?

PERINO: The draft, it's kind of chilly in here.

(LAUGHTER)

BOLLING: The draft. Exactly.

BECKEL: First of all, what's wrong with advertising during the football games?

BOLLING: Because football is sacred.

BECKEL: I see, sacred from --

BOLLING: Why do we have to partisan up football?

BECKEL: What?

BOLLING: You, why do we partisan up football?

BECKEL: Partisan up football? You can buy an ad like the Super Bowl.

(CROSSTALK)

GREG GUTFELD, CO-HOST: Are they trying to get athletes involved?

BOLLING: They're trying, but the NFL is also interested, I guess if the numbers are right, they'll do the ads.

PERINO: Celebrity endorsement.

GUTFELD: Okay, the problem with celebrity endorsement of programs like this, they become a propaganda arm for the government and there's no consequences for their actions because they don't actually use the programs. The programs suck. A rich celebrity won't know. It's not like doing something for the military, the military defends you and you owe them to do something nice for them.

But trumpeting ObamaCare doesn't matter if it is destructive because you don't use it.

BECKEL: Greg, let me ask you a question. Do you think most Major League players can't explain ObamaCare?

(LAUGHTER)

ANDREA TANTAROS, CO-HOST: How dare you, Bob?

BOLLING: We know it's going to cost them a hell of a lot of money once they implement Obamacare.

Dana, will this interrupt football viewing?

PERINO: Well, I pretty much watch for the commercials. So, I'm really looking forward to that. And I really hope the play 360, what is it? The little song that they have, it's very catchy. So, I think, if I were the NFL, I would have said thanks so much for calling. We would love to work on the anti-obesity campaign that Mrs. Obama has so championed and we love that, but please don't make us do ObamaCare.

Besides, Obamacare is going to hire all of the navigators for all that money. This is supposed to be their job. That's what they're supposed to do, go out and tell people why to buy this.

(CROSSTALK)

BECKEL: Start for the Patriots?

PERINO: Eric says yes.

(LAUGHTER)

GUTFELD: Does Obamacare cover steroids?

BOLLING: Does Obamacare cover steroids? I don't know. Maybe.

TANTAROS: Can I weigh in here?

BECKEL: Please?

TANTAROS: I think this is shameless but it is genius. We talked about it during the commercial break. So many eyeballs on the sport, and they look at RomneyCare in Massachusetts, what was the biggest issue with RomneyCare, enrollment.

Why would anyone sign up to pay a premium more expensive than paying the penalty? So, they need to get people into the system. So what do they do, they advertise, they take out ads. This is smarter and savvier.

But let me just say this, I wonder what the player union thinks of it, because the base of NFL players is not exactly progressive. But it shows that even the elite in the very important institutions are politically correct.

BOLLING: Can I add to Andrea's point? ObamaCare is going to fail or succeed based on enrollment, but enrollment of younger people.

TANTAROS: Enrollment of healthy people. They need to get people who are healthy. It doesn't matter.

BECKEL: We need the defensive line for the Chicago Bears to explain exchanges.

PERINO: The NFL should have supported the idea of selling health insurance across state lines, because, you know, if you opened up that market, imagine how many ads there would be, rather than car insurance ads, you could get health insurance ads.

BECKEL: They do that now.

PERINO: No, they don't.

BECKEL: They will under ObamaCare.

GUTFELD: They get celebrities to sell a turd, you can bet it's a turd.

BECKEL: Oh, come on.

(CROSSTALK)

BECKEL: If we go along with you guys, you kill ObamaCare, you got 40 million don't have insurance.

PERINO: No, CBO says 31 million still don't have insurance after ObamaCare.

TANTAROS: And why would you politicize the sport. Look at the people who watch football, right?

There was a rule announced, if you're an American trucking company and you have 50 employees, it's cheaper for you through the immigration bill to hire the new residents than hire American workers.

This is the NFL's base, Bob, this is their base. ObamaCare, immigration, it's just --

BECKEL: Virtually, no companies in Massachusetts that size have laid off anybody.

BOLLING: Can we point one more thing out, NFL, NBA, Major League Baseball, two things common to the administration, believe it or not, unfortunately -- unions, number one. And number two, they do the thing called revenue share, so smaller markets benefit from teams.

BECKEL: Gee, that was cute.

BOLLING: Unfortunate.

Alright. We've got to leave it there. Ahead on THE FIVE --THE FIVE hits 500 today. We're going to celebrate the 500th show a little later and we want you to be part of it.
