And now some fresh pickings from the Political Grapevine...

Grand Scheme of Things

Texas Governor Rick Perry spent more than $1,000 per vote in his failed attempt for the Republican presidential nomination.

President Obama is being criticized by some for failing to address any questions about the legalization of marijuana during an online hangout chat Monday.

A Huffington Post reporter notes 18 of the 20 most popular YouTube questions submitted were about the drug war.

However, none of those made the final cut.

Quote -- "While the president did find time to talk about a whole host of less weighty questions, including ones about late-night snacks, dancing and his tennis skills, a response to a top-rated question [about drug policy] was conspicuously absent."

The White House says Google Plus moderators selected the questions.

A Post local editor added -- quote -- "In retrospect I wish we had given readers a better sense of the overall magnitude of the March."
