Hero's Welcome from Airline?

And now some fresh pickings from the Political Grapevine:

Hero's Welcome?

Delta Airlines has gone into damage control after two U.S. soldiers returning home from Afghanistan complained about almost $3,000 in extra baggage fees for their unit.

The soldiers posted a video online saying their orders stated each soldier was allowed up to four bags for free. But Delta agents charged them $200 for each fourth bag.

Delta later apologized and said its policy has now been updated. It did not say if it will reimburse the soldiers.

Frankly Speaking

President Obama's 2012 re-election might not be a sure-thing according to one of Washington's most liberal senators.

Minnesota Democrat Al Franken made this observation during a hearing about FBI Director Robert Mueller's future.

SEN. AL FRANKEN, D-MINN.: President Obama could nominate a new director that would be there for ten years...in two years he may not be the president so, I think that -- that bears mention.

The Break-up

And finally, Greenpeace has a new target, Barbie.

Environmental activists have begun a campaign against manufacturer Mattel, a campaign that features Ken dumping the so-called serial killer Barbie over deforestation.

Greenpeace claims the toy packaging Mattel uses is helping destroy the rainforest in Asia. There's even a video.

Mattel says it's been in talks with Greenpeace and calls the campaign inflammatory.
