Flights out of Sweden's main airport suspended

Swedish authorities say flights from the Scandinavian country's main airport in Stockholm have been grounded because of a blizzard that has hit central parts of the country.Operator Swedavia spokesman Klas Nilsson says one runway remains open for arriving flights, but delays are expected. Some 20 centimeters (8 inches) of snow fell on Stockholm overnight Wednesday.Nilsson says that "the extreme weather" is expected to continue for several hours. He has no immediate figures on how many passengers were affected but says some 50,000 people travel through Arlanda daily.The Swedish news agecy TT says that Prime Minister Fredrik Reinfeldt and Education Minister Jan Bjorklunds had to cancel visits to various parts of Sweden because of the weather....
