Barbados' prime minister returns to US for more medical treatment of unspecified illness

BRIDGETOWN, Barbados (AP) — Barbados' prime minister has left the Caribbean island again to seek medical attention in the United States , just a week after he returned from receiving treatment for an undisclosed illness.

Prime Minister David Thompson said Wednesday in a live radio broadcast from New York that he experienced complications over the weekend. He gave no details, but said his physician would disclose the illness at some point.It was not clear when Thompson planned to return.Thompson revealed in May that he underwent testing in New York for stomach pains that began in March. He temporarily stepped down in July to take a two-month leave of absence.Deputy Prime Minister Freundel Stuart is running the government in Thompson's absence....
