Hurricane Katia Weakens to Category 2 Storm in Atlantic

Hurricane Katia has weakened to a Category 1 storm in the Atlantic and is expected to pass between the U.S. East Coast and Bermuda over Wednesday night and Thursday.Katia's maximum sustained winds decreased early Wednesday to 90 mph (150 kph).Though Katia isn't expected to hit land, the U.S. National Hurricane Center says large swells could affect the East Coast, Bermuda, the Greater Antilles and parts of theBahamas over the next few days. A tropical storm watch is in effect for Bermuda.Meanwhile, the hurricane center says a tropical depression farther out in the Atlantic is expected to become a tropical storm later in the day.
