Chilean tennis star Fernando Gonzalez says he will retire next month because injuries no longer allow him to play at a top level.

The 31-year-old Gonzalez made the announcement Thursday. He will leave after the Sony Ericsson Open, which begins March 21 in Key Biscayne, Fla.Gonzalez has been bothered by back, knee and hip injuries for several years. He has been ranked as high as No. 5 and won 11 ATP events. He also won three Olympic medals — gold, silver and bronze....
