Marianne Vos Wins Women's Road Race, Britain's Elizabeth Armitstead Takes Silver

The hosts have their first medal of the 2012 Summer Olympics. On a day with weather that could best be described as "miserably British," Great Britain's Elizabeth Armitstead won silver in the Women's Cycling Road Race, narrowly losing out on a sprint for the finish line to Marianne Vos. Russia's Olga Zabelinskaya took the bronze.For the Dutch Vos, it's her second Olympic gold medal after winning the Points Race in Beijing.Much like the men's competition on Saturday, a breakaway decided the race, with the three riders attacking early and then holding off the peloton over the 87-mile ride.
