AP source: Duquesne coach Ron Everhart will interview for vacant Penn State job Tuesday

Penn State officials will interview Duquesne coach Ron Everhart for their vacant position at an undisclosed location on Tuesday, according to a person with knowledge of the situation.In a bit of a surprise last week, Ed DeChellis left Penn State to take the same job at Navy. This came just three months after DeChellis led the Nittany Lions (19-15) to the NCAA tournament.In five years at Duquesne, Everhart, 49, has orchestrated four winning regular seasons, and has taken the Dukes to postseason play the last three years. He is 83-74 at Duquesne, and led the Dukes to the Atlantic-10 tournament final in 2009. Duquesne went 19-13 last season, and lost to Penn State, interestingly enough, 77-73 on Dec. 4 in State College.In 17 seasons with McNeese State, Northeastern and Duquesne, Everhart is 257-239, but has yet to make the NCAA tournament.Penn State was an underwhelming 117-139 under DeChellis, and he went just 41-95 in Big Ten play.
