Niumatalolo Accepts Blame for Navy's 63-35 Loss to Southern Miss.

Navy played without its leading rusher, piled up yardage on the ground, yet still had trouble getting the ball across the goal line when it mattered most.The result was a 63-35 shellacking at the hands of Southern Miss, which scored touchdowns on nine of its 13 drives and answered decisively every time the Midshipmen had designs on getting back in the game."It's been a long time since we got our butts whipped like that," Navy coach Ken Niumatalolo said. "And that starts with me. It was a thorough beating."The Midshipmen played without fullback Alexander Teich, their leading rusher, who was held out of the game by Niumatalolo for disciplinary reasons."Any time you lose one of your star players, it affects the team," Navy quarterback Kriss Proctor said.
