BYU's Mendenhall receives extension

Brigham Young University head football coach Bronco Mendenhall has signed an agreement that extends his contract through the 2016 season.Mendenhall has been the Cougars' head coach since 2005, leading BYU to a 74-29 record and a bowl appearance in each of his eight seasons. The Cougars have a 6-2 bowl record under him and have won the last four straight."I am thrilled to have Bronco signed as our head football coach through the 2016 season," said BYU director of athletics Tom Holmoe. "Over the past eight seasons, his leadership has guided our football program back to national prominence through top-25 rankings, bowl victories, All-American athletes and overall excitement at LaVell Edwards Stadium.
