Bomb strikes Sunni area in Baghdad , killing 7

Iraqi officials say a bomb has exploded in a commericial area in a mainly Sunni neighborhood in western Baghdad, killing at least seven people and wounding 20.The attack raises Friday's overall death toll to at least 58. That makes it the deadliest day in about two months as a spike in violence has raised fears the country could be on the path to a new round of sectarian bloodshed.The officials gave the casualty figures on condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to release the information.Tensions have been intensifying since Sunnis began protesting what they say is mistreatment at the hands of the Shiite-led government, including random detentions and neglect. The protests, which began in December, have largely been peaceful, but the number of attacks rose sharply after a deadly security crackdown on a Sunni protest camp in the country's north on April 23.THIS IS A BREAKING NEWS UPDATE.
