Reed pulls ahead by 7 at Humana Challenge

La Quinta, CA (SportsNetwork.com) - Patrick Reed shot his third consecutive 9- under 63 on Saturday to stretch his lead up to seven entering the final round of the Humana Challenge.Reed, whose three-day total of 27-under-par 189 broke the record for the lowest 54-hole score in relation to par in PGA Tour history, is seeking his second career win on the PGA Tour."It means a lot, but I'd rather set 72-hole records and year-end records," Reed said in a televised interview about setting the 54-hole record. "It's always good to have a 54-hole lead, especially with the one we have right now. We still have a lot of work to do and we have 18 holes tomorrow to get it done."Charley Hoffman (66) and Brendon Todd (68) shared second place at 20-under 196.Reed played at PGA West's Jack Nicklaus Private Course, Hoffman played at PGA West's Arnold Palmer Private Course and Todd competed at La Quinta Country Club, comprising the three courses in play during this pro-am event.
