Jets complete two trades; reduce roster

The New York Jets have reduced their roster to 53 players, as mandated by the NFL by making two trades and waiving 26 players.The Jets acquired guard Caleb Schlauderaff from the Green Bay Packers for an undisclosed conditional draft selection. Schlauderaff was taken in the sixth round of the 2011 draft by Green Bay.The Jets also received a draft pick from the Jacksonville Jaguars in exchange for safety Dwight Lowery . He was selected by the Jets in the fourth round of the 2008 draft and played three seasons for the Jets, recording 92 tackles and two sacks in 43 games.Notable players that were waived by the Jets include receiver Scotty McKnight from the University of Colorado and receiver Patrick Turner out of the University of Southern California.McKnight, 23. played in three preseason games for New York, making one catch for 14 yards and a touchdown.
