2011 SEASON IN REVIEW: Howard Schnellenberger helped build the football program at Florida Atlantic from scratch, and he led the Owls to moderate success during his 11 years as head coach, including back-to-back bowl wins in 2007-08.In what would be his final year of coaching however, FAU had its worst season ever.The campaign started off with 10 consecutive losses, all but one of which came by 14 points or more. The Owls finally found the win column on Nov. 26 when they defeated UAB, 38-35, only to get shut out by ULM in the season finale, 26-0.After more than four decades as a college football head coach, Schnellenberger retired, and he was replaced in the offseason by former Nebraska defensive coordinator Carl Pelini.2012 ANALYSIS:OFFENSE: One of FAU's many problems during the 2011 season was its inefficient offense.
