It's been a tough few months for music fans, who are now mourning with the death of Monkees' lead singer Davy Jones.

The 66-year-old singer from the classic band was said to have died after suffering a heart attack in Florida, just weeks after the death of music stars Whitney Houston and Etta James .The "Daydream Believer" is survived by his wife and four daughters.From the Monkees to another hugely popular band of that time, the childhood homes of Beatles John Lennon and Paul McCarthy will be preserved by the British government. The homes are said to be the birthplace of some of the band's most iconic songs. They will be given a "grade 2" listing which means they can't be altered without the approval of local officials.On to news of another famous Brit, Simon Cowell is getting ready for auditions of season two of his hit show "The X Factor."
