David "Dave" Bing (born November 24, 1943) is the mayor of Detroit, Michigan, a businessman, and a retired American professional basketball player who played 12 seasons in the National Basketball Association (NBA), primarily for the Detroit Pistons (1966–75).

A deal between city and union leaders to fix Detroit's finances, if reached by early February, could pre-empt the work of a state-appointed review team that has started digging into the city's finances, Treasurer Andy Dillon said."I'm cautiously optimistic," Dillon said after the 10-member review team's first meeting.
