Royals agree to terms with Crow, four others

The Kansas City Royals announced Saturday that the team has reached agreements on contracts for the upcoming season with five pitchers, including reliever Aaron Crow and starter Luis Mendoza.The club also came to terms with Louis Coleman, Guillermo Moscoso and left- hander Francisley Bueno. Financial terms were not released for any of the deals.Crow was Kansas City's representative in the 2011 All-Star Game as a rookie and posted a 2.76 earned run average in 57 appearances that season. The former first-round pick ranked second on the team with 73 games pitched last year and went 3-1 with two saves and a 3.48 ERA.Mendoza made a career-high 25 starts and participated in 30 games a year ago, finishing with an 8-10 record and a 4.23 ERA. The right-hander's eight victories were tied for second-most among Kansas City hurlers.Coleman had 42 appearances out of the bullpen for the Royals last season and recorded a 3.76 ERA.
