Astros deal C Quintero, OF Bourgeois to Royals

The Houston Astros shipped catcher Humberto Quintero and outfielder Jason Bourgeois to the Kansas City Royals on Tuesday in exchange for minor league pitcher Kevin Chapman and a player to be named later.Quintero, 32, batted .270 with two home runs and 25 RBI last season with the Astros and is a career .234 hitter in 379 major league games for Houston and San Diego.Bourgeois, 30, came to Houston after he was claimed off waivers by the club in 2009. He hit .294 with one home run, 16 RBI and 31 stolen bases in 93 games for the Astros last season, and is a career .262 hitter in 192 major league contests."Jason and Humberto were a big part of this team last year and will be missed," Astros general manager Jeff Luhnow said. "They are quality players and well-liked in Houston.
