Gomes HR in 9th sends Red Sox to twinbill sweep of Rays

Jonny Gomes' two-run homer in the bottom of the ninth rescued Andrew Bailey and sent the Boston Red Sox to a 3-1 victory over the Tampa Bay Rays in the second half of a doubleheader from Fenway Park.Bailey (3-0), who relieved a spectacular Felix Doubront, gave up a game- tying homer to Kelly Johnson in the top of the ninth. Daniel Nava drew a leadoff walk against Joel Peralta (1-3) to start the home half, however, and Gomes drilled a pitch well over the Green Monster to end the contest."I couldn't find the strike zone," said Peralta. "So I walked [Nava] and I was trying to get [Gomes] with a first-pitch strike down and away. But I missed the location.
