Twins to host 2014 All-Star Game

The Minnesota Twins will host the 2014 All- Star Game, MLB commissioner Bud Selig officially announced Wednesday."This is especially meaningful to me because of my close personal and professional relationship with Carl Pohlad, who was one of the finest owners in professional sports," Selig said. "The Midsummer Classic will be a celebration of Carl's legacy, one of our game's model franchises and the spectacular Target Field, which deserves to be showcased on this global stage."Pohlad, the former Twins owner, died of natural causes Jan. 5, 2009 at the age of 93."It is an honor for the Minnesota Twins to be selected to host the 2014 All- Star Game at Target Field," said Twins CEO Jim Pohlad.
