Sega recently announced that the cast of Ridley Scott’s 1979 classic “Alien,” including Sigourney Weaver, will feature in an upcoming video game based on the movie -- “Alien: Isolation.” FoxNews.com was given the opportunity to talk to Weaver about returning to the spacesuit of Ellen Ripley 35 years later.

As FoxNews.com has covered previously, “Alien: Isolation” is an upcoming first-person survival horror game set in the “Alien” universe shortly after the events of the movie. The player will step into the shoes of Amanda Ripley, Ellen Ripley’s daughter, as she tries to unravel the mystery behind her mother’s disappearance.

Although the main game focuses on this plot, Sega recently released a trailer showing the entire cast in their video game form on the Nostromo spaceship and announced that there will be two missions in the form of optional downloadable content featuring the original cast.

When FoxNews.com spoke to Weaver about how it feels to be revisiting a character she first played in her big break back in 1979, she acknowledged that she is a very different actor now.

“I didn’t know very much in that first film at all,” Weaver said. “Ridley kept asking me not to look in the camera, and I kept saying ‘But you’re pointing it right at me!’”

However, Weaver admits she was surprised by how easy it was to step back into the role of Ripley once again.

“I got in the mood and Ripley’s voice came out right away. I was surprised at how much of a part of my DNA she was and how much of her was there within me.”

“Alien: Isolation” is the first video game Weaver has voiced in her long acting career, and she says she enjoyed the new challenge of just doing voice-work.

“I do believe in the expressiveness of the human voice, and it’s true with a video game I only had my voice,” Weaver told Fox News.com “It was all I needed and it was a very creative experience...it was a good thing to be asked to do.”

Sigourney said she enjoyed stepping back into the role of Ripley a great deal, and even hinted at a possible return to the Alien universe on the big screen. Referring to the failed attempt to film “Alien 5” shortly after 1997’s “Alien: Resurrection,” Weaver said it was her misgivings that stopped it coming to fruition.

“I would love to return to the Alien saga. It was my fault as I didn’t want to do 5 straight after 4,” Weaver said. “Maybe there will be another opportunity for us all together again…perhaps with Ridley?”

Alien: Isolation will be released on October 7 across multiple platforms.
