Eat Beets to Boost Your Stamina

New U.K. research revealed beetroot juice boosts stamina by making muscles more fuel efficient, The Sun reported Thursday.

Tests showed that drinking half a liter a day enabled men to cycle 16 percent further before getting tired.

It doubled the nitrate in the blood and reduced the rate at which muscles used their energy.

Exeter University in southeastern England conducted the research. Professor Andy Jones said: "It will attract athletes' attention."
