ACORN — remember them? — they're the community organizing group that has a soft spot for those in need (even those in need of tax evasion advice for their under-aged El Salvadorian sex slave business.)

Congress voted to de-fund ACORN. Then a federal judge overturned the ban, saying it was unconstitutional. Here's the update: On Wednesday, the funding ban was reinstated. Now this really upset some people, especially ACORN chief organizer Bertha Lewis.

The media is focusing in on what Bertha said while speaking at a conference of the Young Democratic Socialists; she called the Tea Party movement a "bowel movement."

First of all, very classy from an organization receiving your tax dollars. Good to see America doing business with upstanding groups and upstanding people. By the way, in fairness to the president, I don't want to imply some sort of linkage between him and ACORN — I'll just let him say it:

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

BARACK OBAMA: I definitely welcome ACORN's input. You don't have to ask me about that, I'm going to call you, even if you, if you didn't ask me.

Since I've been in the United States Senate, I've been always a partner with ACORN as well.

I've been fighting with ACORN, alongside ACORN, on issues you care about my entire career.

(END VIDEO CLIP)

So anyway, we're talking about Bertha Lewis and her comments to the Young Democratic Socialists of America. Let's listen in:

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

BERTHA LEWIS, ACORN: This rise of this Tea Party so-called movement — bowel movement in my estimation —

(LAUGHTER)

(END VIDEO CLIP)

That's where the media are focused and as usual they are completely missing the real story.

When this show, Fox News, talk radio, conservative blogs and practically no one else put the heat on ACORN, I made a prediction:

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

GLENN BECK, JUNE 18, 2009: They're going to change their name and go underground. My prediction is that ACORN is going to get so much heat because of this network — and only because of this network — that they are going to disband. They're going to — you're going to see — you will see ACORN kind of mutate, change, go underground.

(END VIDEO CLIP)

That was June of last year.

Oh Glenn, that's ridiculous!

Well, what's weird is that ACORN has started doing just that:

California ACORN changed to the Alliance of Californians for Community Empowerment
(look at the bottom of their website: 'in transition...check back soon')

New York ACORN is now New York Communities for change

Connecticut, Rhode Island and Massachusetts ACORN is now New England United for Justice

ACORN Housing Corp. is now Affordable Housing of America

ACORN Arkansas is now Arkansas Community Organizations

Louisiana ACORN is now Community Voice

Minnesota ACORN is Minnesota Neighborhood Organizing for Change

Missouri ACORN is now Missourians Organizing for Reform and Empowerment

Pennsylvania ACORN is now Pennsylvania Communities Organizing for Change

Washington ACORN is now Organization United for Reform (OUR)

ACORN, on the verge of bankruptcy, announced on April 1 that they dissolved. But here's the good news: They didn't actually go away. You'll still be able to get your free tax evasion advice; the business card is the only thing changing. I wonder if these new organizations will be able to get federal funding.

It's interesting that the president is seeking advice from and surrounding himself with people and groups who seem to succeed at nothing besides running companies into the ground: ACORN, unions, SEIU and... Goldman Sachs.

On Thursday it was reported that: "While Goldman Sachs' lawyers negotiated with the Securities and Exchange Commission over potentially explosive civil fraud charges, Goldman's chief executive visited the White House at least four times."

They are getting more brazen.

We are developing a story for Monday on what the usual suspects are up to with Goldman Sachs that you will not believe.

Back to Bertha Lewis: We have the media on the wrong story. Second, we have a prediction I made on this program a year ago that ACORN would go underground and change names. And now there's this: I told you a long time ago the argument would no longer be: "Is he a socialist or isn't he?"

The question is: Does it matter?

Now, while talking to the Young Democratic Socialists, Bertha Lewis didn't exactly come out and say she's a socialist, but she came very close:

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

LEWIS: This particular organization, Young Democratic Socialists, you do whatever you can in every way that you can and all of you devote more time to building this organization.

(END VIDEO CLIP)

What she is saying here is, not that I'm a socialist — but gosh darn it, it's OK to be one and we need them now more than ever! That's the first step: Mainstream socialism; make it acceptable and credible to be a socialist. Remove the stigma. They've been working hard. The Social Democrats Socialist Party website celebrates all the good work they've done within the Democratic Party: "a party within a party."

But the socialist stigma is not gone yet; the president still denies he's a socialist whenever he's asked about it (the fact he's asked about it should be a hint). But Bertha's crazy elevator hasn't reached the top floor yet. Watch what she said next:

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

LEWIS: That's no light thing to do — to actually say, "I'm a socialist." as you guys know, right now, we are living in a time which is going to dwarf the McCarthy era. It is going to dwarf the internment during World War II. We are right now in a time that is going to dwarf the era of Jim Crow and segregation.

(END VIDEO CLIP)

Wow, where to start? First, I just want to give the media the question to ask Bertha: Is she a FEMA camp conspiracy theorist? Because — and I'm sure the media will jump on this — I disproved the FEMA camp myth, so she must have new evidence.

I mean, internment camps? Jim Crow-like segregation? McCarthyism?

Bertha (may I call you Bertha?) Bertha, just one question: How, exactly, will a group of moms, grandparents and regular citizens "come after you"?

I'd just like to point out that it's government — especially big governments like you (and the socialists you are speaking to) who did those things you mention. Oh, and I'd also like to point out, it was progressive FDR did internment camps. It was progressive Woodrow Wilson who was a racist and who re-segregated the military. I've never seen internment camps set up by an accountant or a talk show host or the grocery store clerk. Only an out-of-control government has ever done those sorts of things.

The media is trying harder than ever to paint the Tea Parties as rabid, frothing at the mouth, unhinged lunatics ready to start firing at will any moment. Yet we have Bertha Lewis getting millions of dollars of taxpayer money, telling socialists to be proud of that and to look out, because people will put you in an internment camp. And no one says a word.

The more this administration and its media cronies try to paint the Tea Parties into the radicals they themselves are, the more apparent it is, they are all lies. They don't have the footage to support the claim.

How many times have you seen the report: And, the dangerous rhetoric of angry Tea Party goers came to our local town today, with anti-government protesters wielding firearms and a vitriol that has the police on edge.

And then the footage comes on the screen — whoa, scary!

Here's the truth: The Tea Parties are so non-violent and peaceful that police in towns like Raleigh, North Carolina, are actually relaxing security measures taken at Tea Party rallies because of how low the threat of violence actually is.

Martin Luther King trusted the American people. You trust the American people to know that once your neighbors see the truth, regular schlubs will reject the media's bogus claims. But that will frustrate the other side; they will become more desperate. They'll take the mask off.

While ACORN is going underground with yet another name change, their words are becoming much more dangerous and meaningful. Their allies at SEIU pleaded not guilty in the Kenneth Gladney beating.

Not guilty your honor! Don't know what you are talking about. Oh, didn't know you had it on tape.

This was union thugs, beating a man and calling him the N-word. Yet ACORN and SEIU will stand side-by-side. Why? When they were beating Kenneth, they were saying what's an N-word like you doing here? This is enforced segregation; an implied sanction from this administration. How dare you have a mind of your own! Don't you know whose side you are supposed to be on?

This should never happen in America, but it is.
