A Chinese baby is suffering from a rare skin disorder that makes the skin peel off his body, ninemsn.com.au reported.

The baby has a severe case of lamellar ichthyosis, which affects one in 600,000 people. He does not have any pores, so he cannot sweat, said the baby’s father, Song Dehui.

"In the summer, he has to lie on ice cubes to lower the body temperature, otherwise he’ll have a high fever all the time," Dehui said.

The skin on the child’s hands and feet is described as "being like tree bark," and is cracked on his ears and lips. He has no teeth or hair.

Dehui said he has visited many hospitals searching for a cure, but cannot find one.
