The International Committee of the Red Cross says that one of its staffers who was kidnapped in Chad in November has been freed.

The ICRC said Saturday that Frenchman Laurent Maurice "is tired but appears to be in good health" after 89 days in captivity.

The agronomist was kidnapped by armed men while working in the village of Kawa near the African country's eastern border with Sudan. An ICRC statement said he had been in the country for 10 months before being kidnapped and was freed Saturday.

The statement also said another of the agency's staffers is still being held captive. Gauthier Lefevre was taken hostage Oct. 22 in West Darfur.
