VALLEJO, Calif. – A Vallejo teen has been booked on suspicion of being the accomplice to the attempted robbery and murder of a Vallejo ice cream truck driver.
Vallejo police Sgt. Kevin Bartlett said Friday that they found the gun used in the shooting at the home of a 14-year-old boy now being held at Solano County Juvenile Hall. His name has not been released.
Another boy, 15, is being sought on suspicion of shooting 39-year-old Amarjit Kaur in the chest Wednesday afternoon after demanding money.
The truck was near Springstowne Middle School, where Kaur apparently regularly sold ice cream.
Authorities said Kaur, a recent immigrant who does not speak English well, had trouble understanding and was shot when she did not respond quickly enough.
Kaur is hospitalized in serious but stable condition.
