An 11-year-old boy took his aunt's SUV for a short joy ride, crashing into two cars before stopping.

The Denver Post reports that no one was injured during the boy's brief ride in a Chevrolet Suburban at about 11:20 a.m. Tuesday. The newspaper says the boy first struck a truck, went down a sidewalk and along light rail tracks before crashing into another car. The ride covered about a block in a northeast Denver neighborhood.

The boy's aunt says the youngster had asked for permission to go to her car so he could get a pen and paper to write her an apology. The boy was recently suspended from school.

He's due in a Denver court March 17 but it's unknown what charges, if any, he could face.
