Federal aviation officials say two people are dead after a single-engine plane crashed in central California.

Federal Aviation Administration spokesman Ian Gregor says the small plane crashed after 1 p.m. Saturday in a trailer park near Lake Isabella, about 40 miles east of Bakersfield.

The two people aboard the aircraft were killed.

Preliminary information from the FAA indicates the plane was an experimental aircraft called the Airborne Streak 2.
