Bomb experts detonated a suspicious package found Tuesday at Milan's Malpensa airport, an airport spokeswoman said.
The parcel was abandoned in a men's bathroom in the check-in area for charter flights, said Carla Fossati of the SEA company that operates Milan's airports.
She could not confirm reports that the package was equipped with a detonator and a radio receiver.
The ANSA news agency said it wasn't clear if there were also explosives in the package.
