A Florida woman is suffering from a rare condition that is causing her skin to burn from the inside out, MyFoxTampaBay reported.
Yasmin Hernandez has toxic epidermal necrolysis (also known as TEN), a severe form of Stevens-Johnson syndrome — a disease that is caused by an allergic reaction to medicine.
Hernandez's husband, Benjamin, told the TV station that his wife took bipolar medication on Dec. 3 and developed a fever of 109 degrees.
"I thought my thermometer was broken, I rushed her to the hospital," Benjamin Hernandez said.
Yasmin Hernandez is suffering from blisters that are literally burning the skin off of her body, and she is on a ventilator in an Orlando hospital. Benjamin Hernandez said his wife has a 30 percent chance of surviving the disease.
"I don't wish this on anybody," said Benjamin Hernandez, who has two daughters with his wife.
