The news that is not White House approved...

'Outrageous' Attacks

The left wing is showing that they are willing to do and say anything in order to pass a government-run health care option and anyone opposing such a plan is likely to be victimized by a vicious smear campaign.

Their latest target is Senator Joe Lieberman and believe it or not his wife, Hadassah. Liberal blogs are actually trying to oust her from serving as the global ambassador of the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation organization and they are calling on celebrities like Ellen DeGeneres and Neil Patrick Harris to join their efforts.

Senator Lieberman responded to these depict cable attacks, telling Fox News, "People can come after me for things I say. That's what happens in politics. But to go after my wife and try and separate her from her work on breast cancer, that's just outrageous, truly outrageous."

Senator, I could not agree more and the people behind those attacks should be ashamed of themselves.

Seriously?

If you thought the Nobel Peace Prize had low standards after it nominated President Obama only 12 days after he took office, wait until you hear this. TIME magazine has announced that San Francisco Speaker Nancy Pelosi is a finalist for its Person of the Year award!

Pelosi is joined on the shortlist by the Anointed One himself and General Stanley McChrystal.

But what exactly qualifies her for this so-called honor? Let's take a look at some of her accomplishments this past year:

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

SPEAKER OF THE HOUSE NANCY PELOSI, D-CALIF., AUG. 5: I think they are Astroturf. You be the judge, of carrying swastikas and symbols like that to a town meeting on health care.

PELOSI, SEPT. 17: I saw — I saw this myself in the late '70s in San Francisco, this kind of rhetoric was very frightening. And it gave — it created a climate in which we — violence took place.

PELOSI, MAY 14: Yet, they did. They misrepresented every step of the way. And they don't want that focus on them, so they try to turn the attention on us.

Not exactly the highlight reel that you'd expect to see from the Person of the Year.

What a Waste!

Americans know all too well that our representatives in D.C. have no problems spending your hard-earned money, but an analysis from Watchdog.org shows that Congress appears to have taken wasteful spending to a whole new level.

After scouring thousands of expense reports, the site posted some of the most absurd examples, like Congressman Linda Sanchez's use of more than $33,000 of what she described as "computer hardware." Then there is the $48,000 charge by Congresswoman Louise Slaughter for "Web development and e-mail."

By the way, Congresswoman, Gmail is actually free.

But nothing can top the $8.80 used to pay for Congressman Mike Quigley's dry cleaning, because you know, we need to pay for our elected officials' clean shirts.

Fact Check

The Climate-gate e-mail scandal isn't the only cloud hanging over the Copenhagen conference. No, thanks to Al Gore, a whole new controversy has now erupted.

In a speech Monday, the former VP claimed the Arctic would be ice-free within five years, citing data from well-known climatologist Wieslav Maslowski. But now that scientist appears to be accusing Al Gore of lying. The London Times quotes him as saying, "It's unclear to me how this figure was arrived at. I would never try to estimate likelihood at anything as exact as this."

Those comments forced Al Gore's office to concede that the data that he was referring to in a speech was only "a ballpark figure."

Pretty embarrassing, even for Al Gore.
