The news that is not White House approved...

He's Baaaaack!

Florida Congressman Alan Grayson is at it again. This time he is attacking former Vice President Cheney in his characteristically vulgar manner. Here's what he had to say Wednesday night on the Obama network when asked his thoughts on some of the vice president's recent comments, in particular about his appearance right here on this show:

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

REP. ALAN GRAYSON, D-FLA.: On the Internet there's an acronym that's used to apply to situations like this, it's STFU. I don't think I can say that on the air, but I think you know what it means.

(END VIDEO CLIP)

Keep it classy, Congressman. The Democratic Party must be so proud to count you among their members.

Snubbing the King

President Obama accepted his Nobel Peace Prize in Oslo, Norway, but unlike previous winners, the president has refused to attend what the AP is calling a "slew of Nobel activities." He also turned down a lunch invitation from the king of Norway. U.K.'s Guardian newspaper reports that Norwegians are "incensed over these perceived snubs."

You know, for a guy who was given the award supposedly for strengthening international diplomacy, he certainly made a lot of enemies here in the process.

His Holiness Speaks

His holiness the Dalai Lama, who received the Nobel Peace Prize 20 years ago, had some reservations about this year's recipient. Take a look at what he told Sky News Thursday:

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

DALAI LAMA, SPIRITUAL LEADER: Some opinion is that it was a little bit too early. So we have to wait. If you tell realistically, maybe a little early.

(END VIDEO CLIP)

You may remember that the president snubbed the Dalai Lama earlier this year by refusing to meet with him while he was in D.C. because Obama was afraid to anger the Chinese.

On that score, former Czech President Vaclav Havel, the first head of state to invite the Dalai Lama for a visit, directly had some harsh words for the president. Havel noted that his invitation to the Dalai Lama actually earned him respect for the Chinese. "They respect it when someone is standing his ground, when someone is not afraid of them. When someone soils his pants prematurely, they do not respect you more for it."

Mr. President, I hate to say it, but I think he's talking about you.

Nope, Not Consulted

When Attorney General Eric Holder announced that the 9/11 trials would be held in New York, one would assume that he took the time to consider the security implications the event would have on the city. Unfortunately, that does not appear to be the case, because we now know that the announcement was made without consulting NYPD commissioner Ray Kelly.

And believe it or not, he's not alone. Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano was also left in the dark. The Weekly Standard reports that she recently spoke to a Senate panel about the trials and said, "I was not in the sense of being consulted as to whether security concerns would preclude the ability to try them in New York."

Apparently the attorney general didn't feel he needed to consult anyone before he made that reckless decision.
