A massive swine flu immunization clinic in Louisville could be a model for other cities.

The Courier-Journal of Louisville reported clinic organizers plan to contact Guinness World Records to determine whether the 12,613 vaccinations they administered set a new global record.

The newspaper reported University of Louisville researchers plan to present reports on the two-day clinic Nov. 11-12 in academic journals.

Health officials also learned lessons that could prove valuable in the future for Louisville.

Dr. Adewale Troutman, director of the Louisville Metro Department of Public Health and Wellness, said officials view the clinic as a practice run, should there be a bioterrorism attack or other dangerous outbreak of disease.
