Missing Girl Mystery Heats Up 13 Years Later in Australia

Australian Keli Lane screeched her car into the driveway of her two-story brick home late Wednesday, sprinted the couple of meters to the front door and slammed it behind her without looking back, the Australian Daily Telegraph reported.

For the past 10 years, the questions of what happened on September 14, 1996, when she left the hospital with her 2-year-old daughter Tegan, have never stopped chasing her, the Telegraph reported.

On Wednesday afternoon, they finally caught up.

The 34-year-old mom, a former champion water polo player, learned via her lawyer that she is being charged with the murder of baby Tegan, whose body has never been found, the paper reported.

It is the case that has held Sydney captive, more for the many questions it raised than the answers that have been delivered.
