Ohio Family of Four Jumps From 2nd Story of Burning House

An Ohio family of four were forced to jump out of their second-story window in the middle of the night after waking up to a massive house fire, Fox 8 reported.

Roman Redding jumped to the ground before helping break the fall for his wife and two step-children.

"I couldn't actually catch them, but I broke their fall," Redding told Fox 8. "I held my arms out."

The 3 a.m. fire appeared to start on the downstairs of the house, and is being investigated by the fire department. The house was completely destroyed.

"I started losing my breath, there was so much smoke it was really, really terrifying," the children's mother, Satawana Redding told the station. "I think it was the work of God. That's all I could think of."

The two kids, an 10-year-old boy and a 14-year-old girl, were taken to a local hospital and later released.
