Confederate Statue Near Florida Courthouse May Be Moved Again

A 101-year-old Confederate monument that has stood near the Marion County Courthouse for decades might be moving.

The Marion County commission on Tuesday considered relocating the statue of the Confederate infantryman that once stood in front of the county courthouse.

Two years ago, the statue was moved to a corner on the south side of the building.

It is unclear where county officials plan to move the statue, which is known as "Johnny Reb," if they approve its relocation.
