A police official says a car bomber has attacked a police station in northwestern Pakistan, killing at least two people and injuring 14 others.
Liaqat Ali Khan says police opened fire on the vehicle as it approached a checkpoint in front of a police station in Badh Ber on Monday morning, but the driver was able to detonate his explosives.
Badh Ber is located some 7 miles south of the main northwestern city of Peshawar.
The area in and around Peshawar has experienced a wave of attacks in recent weeks as militants retaliate against an army offensive in the tribal area of South Waziristan, where Taliban and Al Qaeda leaders are believed to be hiding.
