Just in time for the holidays, the pope is going down the same musical road as Johnny Mathis, Elvis, and Mariah Carey.
Geffen Records is releasing a Christmas album featuring the voice of Pope Benedict XVI. On the album, the pope recites and sings prayers in five languages.
"We are honored to be partners on this historic production which will, for the first time, bring the voice of Pope Benedict XVI to a worldwide audience through these stunning musical compositions," Colin Barlow, president of Geffen U.K., told the Daily Telegraph.
Proceeds will help fund musical education for underprivileged children around the world.
The album, "Music from the Vatican," will be released before Christmas.
