A recent poll revealed that 700 million people throughout the world would prefer to live somewhere else, the AFP reported.
It is a clear case for some that the grass is greener on the other side — with hundreds of millions of the world's 6.7 billion people saying they want to permanently relocate to another country.
The poll indicated that people residing in sub-Saharan African countries were the most interested in relocating, according to the AFP. About 165 million adults living there said they would move to another country if provided the opportunity.
The polls, conducted by Gallup, took place in 135 countries between 2007 and 2009.
The most desirable place in which to reside, according to poll numbers, was the United States, with about a quarter of the 700 million people polled choosing it as their preferred destination, the AFP reported.
