CATHEDRAL CITY, Calif. – Police say a shooting that killed two men and wounded a third in a desert town near Palm Springs was a murder-suicide.
Lt. Glen Haas of the Cathedral City police says an attacker opened fire at about 10:30 a.m. Thursday inside Luxury Rent-A-Car and then killed himself.
Another man was taken to a hospital but there was no immediate word on his injuries.
The identities of the victims and shooter have not been released, but Haas says they apparently knew each other.
He declined to speculate on a motive for the killings, but said investigators do not believe the attack was a robbery or gang-related.
Cathedral City is about five miles northeast of Palm Springs in Riverside County.
