Puerto Rico High School Student Shot Dead in Front of Classmates

SAN JUAN, Puerto Rico – Puerto Rico police say a high school student is dead after he was shot 10 times in front of classmates gathered for a lunch break.

Authorities suspect another, unidentified student in the death of 17-year-old Luis De la Rosa Reyes in the San Juan suburb of Santurce.

Officer Francisco de Jesus says nobody has been arrested in Thursday's shooting outside the Facundo Bueso school. It was not clear what motivated the attack.

Authorities have recorded 741 murders so far this year in Puerto Rico, 73 more than during the same period in 2008.
