Police Search for Killer After Man Found Dead in Illinois Motel

FAIRMONT CITY, Ill. – Authorities are trying to pinpoint who killed a man whose body was found over the weekend in a motel room in a village in southwestern Illinois' St. Clair County.

An employee of the Royal Relax Inn in Fairmont City found the body in a room there shortly after 11 a.m. Sunday.

Authorities have determined the death to be a homicide, but they haven't released many other details, including the victim's name.

The Major Case Squad of Greater St. Louis is investigating.

An autopsy was scheduled.
