A former Ivy League professor will serve 25 years for making child pornography and lying to authorities to get a teen victim into the United States.

Prosecutors say former University of Pennsylvania professor Lawrence Scott Ward has been a sexual predator for decades.

They say he preyed on impoverished boys in the U.S. and overseas.

The 66-year-old Ward is already serving 15 years for importing child pornography. The 25-year term handed down Tuesday will run concurrently.

Defense lawyers say the new charges overlap the previous ones. They argued that Ward will be 78 when he finishes the first prison term.

Ward was a marketing professor at Penn's Wharton School of Business when he was arrested, returning to the U.S. from Brazil in 2006.
