An Iranian military plane has crashed south of Tehran while it was flying in an air force show.

The official IRNA news agency says the plane crashed into farmlands just outside the Iranian capital during an exhibition flight that was part of a military parade marking the anniversary of the start of the 1980-1988 Iraq-Iran war.

There was no word on casualties or details about the type of plane that crashed.

Various types of Iranian military planes took part in Tuesday's show, including U.S. made jet fighters and bombers, Russian-made MiG-29, Sukhoi 24 as well as Iranian Saeqeh, or Thunderbolt.
