Redmond O'Neal —the troubled son of actor Ryan O'Neal and the late Farrah Fawcett - will be released from jail and will be sent to rehab to continue his treatment for drug addiction, RadarOnline.com can report.
That announcement was made Friday morning after O'Neal,24, appeared in a courtroom in Santa Clarita, California and pleaded no contest to possession of a controlled substance.
O'Neal could have faced four years into state prison, but under a deal, he must complete one year in treatment at residential rehab at Impact in Pasadena, CA. He was also placed on three years probation, and if he violates probation, he goes to state prison for six years.
O'Neal won't be released to Impact until Commissioner Godfrey at the Airport Court signs off on him being transferred to Impact in Pasadena, CA. Redmond will be in front her Thursday, September 24. It's expected she will sign off on it.
