Scavengers hoping to find a plastic bag filled with $20,002 in cash are being asked not to hunt for it at a landfill site.
A "very confused" elderly woman reportedly lost the money — her life savings — after mistakenly dumping the shopping bag in a grabage can, SkyNews reported.
The grabage was then collected and taken to a landfill site in West Sussex, Great Britain.
The woman's daughter later asked staff to hunt for the cash but a crew of 14 people could find no trace of it.
They stopped trucks dumping rubbish for 45 minutes during the search before admitting defeat.
