Forecasters say Fred has weakened to a tropical storm in the middle of the Atlantic, while Tropical Storm Linda was expected to dissipate soon in the Pacific.
The National Hurricane Center in Miami said Friday that Fred's maximum sustained winds had dropped to near 70 mph and it was barely moving.
Fred is centered about 715 miles west-northwest of the Cape Verde Islands and moving northeast near 2 mph.
In the Pacific, Tropical Storm Linda's maximum sustained winds have dropped to near 40 mph and it was expected to dissipate by Friday night.
Linda is centered about 1,380 miles west of the southern tip of Mexico's Baja California peninsula.
